Lok kalyan

Lok Kalyan Samiti is an NGO based in New Delhi. It was founded by late Sh. Kalyan Singh Gupta and his co-workers in the year 1952, five years after India’s partition, to respond to the sufferings of lakhs of starving refugees in Delhi. On their initiative, 12 dedicated social workers came together and started work by contributing one rupee each (i.e. Rs.12/- in all) to mitigate the plight of the homeless refugees by way of arranging, mobilizing and providing free health check-ups, medicines etc. The selfless work and the untiring spirit of the "LKS Founders Team" under the able leadership of its founder General Secretary, late Shri Kalyan Singh Gupta ji, attracted the attention of hundreds of other social workers as well as national leaders.
Since 1952, Lok Kalyan Samiti has been engaged in various social and welfare activities like healthcare and education. We have conducted many free medical check-up camps for various health problems and illnesses. Eye care camps and cataract removal surgery camps are held all the year round and free spectacles are distributed where needed.
Apart from the comprehensive eye care programs, we also conduct OPD clinics and child education sponsorship programs. Under these programs poor and disadvantaged children are enrolled at the centre. The children are provided with based items like free healthcare, school shoes, school bags, books, and other essential benefits.
Lok Kalyan Samiti functions from two centres at Chakkarpur (Gurgaon) and Nand Nagri(Slum Resettlement area) in northeast Delhi, in addition to its main office located in the heart of Delhi near ITO.
